Escape the winter grey and run away to the hypercolor jungle for a 6 days, 5 nights yoga retreat to awaken your playful nature both on and off the mat. Embrace strong and liberating vinyasa practices and melt into somatic and restorative afternoons. Journey down a misty rainforest trail to a thundering twin waterfall and soak up the energy from the jade pool below. Swim Titou Gorge, a breathtaking volcanic slot canyon with crystal-clear emerald waters and towering mossy rock walls, famously featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Visit Ti Kwen Glo Cho (Creole for "little corner of hot water") and submerge in therapeutic sulphur water, from steaming hot to refreshingly cold, amidst green forest cover, exotic flowers and mountain breeze. Enjoy a complimentary massage included in your retreat at our onsite Bamboo Spa. Get in touch with the mystical healing traditions native to the island with a hands on lesson in indigenous Caribbean herbalism.
Though our retreat week is in the warm clear and dry season, Dominica receives the grace of 250 inches of annual rainfall, feeding pounding waterfalls that lace through verdant volcanic crests, serene crystal streams and thermal hot spring pools, and thousands of acres of lush rainforest. Drenched and pulsating in life force, shades of glorious greens glow year round: lush foliage and flowers spill over onto everything and the air is charged with a palpable vibrancy that awakens and refreshes your spirit. Here, everything feel charged with a supernatural aliveness. This is the prana, the vital life force energy the ancient yogis spoke of that resides within each of us and in all living things. Here in Dominica you feel a revitalizing forcefield of prana surrounding you from the moment you step off the plane that will support your retreat journey of healing, play, and restoration. Nature takes on magical and grand proportions, rugged, wild, and overflowing. So too, on retreat in Dominica, you are invited to let this wild energy vivify your relationship to body, mind, and spirit.
Nestled in the West Indies near St. Lucia and Guadalupe, Dominica (pronounced daa·muh·nee·kuh) is often confused with the Dominican Republic. However, it is its own island in the eastern Caribbean Sea and a part of the Lesser Antilles. This beautiful, mountainous island is known as The Nature Isle because of its breathtaking landscapes is high on the lists of hikers and divers around the world.
